Grace Baptist Church to host “High Seas Expedition” VBS
(July 8, 2010 Parkersburg, W.Va.) Grace Baptist Church of Parkersburg is hosting Vacation Bible School (VBS) Sunday, July 25 through Thursday, July 29 from 6 until 8:30 p.m. each evening. “High Seas Expedition” is open to all children who are in preschool through eighth grade.
The “High Seas Expedition” bible school will engage children in activities such as music, crafts, Bible skits by the drama team, Bible stories, games and daily challenges.
“I think one of the most exciting things about this year’s VBS is the theme,” said Melissa Emerson, director of VBS. “Not only is ‘High Seas Expedition’ great because kids really love the water and all that comes with it, but more importantly, the stories are fresh. Kids are getting new stories and lessons they may not have ever heard or haven’t heard in quite a while.”
Grace Baptist’s goal for the 2010 VBS is to register 120 children and to raise $300 to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.
“VBS is a time when God becomes very real,” said Todd Hill, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church. “It is a time in which children learn that God is not way out there somewhere, but real and here, right now.”
To pre-register your child for Grace Baptist Church’s VBS, visit the registration table in the foyer of the church Monday through Friday during business hours, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Grace Baptist Church is located at 55 Rosemar Road on the corner of Rosemar and Emerson Avenue. You may also call the church office at (304) 485-4071 during business hours for more information.
You may also register your child between church service times or register the evenings of VBS. Worship services begin Sundays at 9 a.m. with morning prayer and Sunday school. Morning worship begins Sundays at 10:45 a.m. and evening worship begins Sundays at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening bible studies are 7 p.m. each week.
Grace Baptist Church’s VBS is an annual event.
“Vacation Bible School is important to Grace Church because it is an essential part of growth in a child’s life,” Pastor Hill said. “It is from the simple stories of the Bible children learn the great life changing truths of Jesus. VBS really is one of the most efficient means to share the gospel of Jesus with the entire world, beginning with children.”
