What are your thoughts on how the Oil Spill in the Gulf is being handled? June 20, 2010 What are your thoughts on how the Oil Spill in the Gulf is being handled? According to a June 2008 article in Kiplinger Magazine, the United States has enough oil reserves to power the nation for upwards of three centuries. That's three-hundred years, Mr. President. The reason BP and other oil companies are drilling 40+ miles off the shoreline and more than a mile deep is because of environmentalists. Sad. This spill would never have happened if they would let us get oil from where it is easy. Tom I agree with Tom. I think that this crisis is getting way out of hand and not being dealt with properly. I think the President should have accepted help from those who were willing to pitch in and help clean up the oil spill and not be bullheaded about who can do what. BP on the other hand should have been there as soon as the oil rig burst into flames and sunk. In my opinion, the government should have kept their noses out of it and allow those who are trained to deal with this disaster. But nooo they had to play politics and do the fingerpointing blaming game they do all the time whenever we have a disaster whether it was man-made or natural. Enough of the blaming game and get this crap cleaned up. Chrstine Judging from the proposed stopping of all drilling in the Gulf, if Obama were to be put in charge of a garden, he would probably spray Miracle Grow on the weeds, and Roundup on the vegetables. It seems like everything he wants to do is counter-productive to the growth of the economy, and the good of our country. Putting us more in debt than all the previous Presidents combined shows his lack of responsible actions. Jim Stop the blame game and clean up the mess already! I am refusing to buy any BP products until something is done! The explosion occured on April 20 and here, nearly 3 months later, oil is still spilling into the gulf. At this point, I don't thinks it really matters who does what as long as the oil gushing into the ocean gets stopped. Yvonne |
