Watch as Network West Virginia travels around the state taking viewers to some of West Virginia's most popular fairs, festivals and othe annual events. Viewers will go behind-the-scenes for an inside look at all the rides, shows, oddities and more. The hosts of "On the Road" will tour the grounds, providing colorful insight into the history of these events. They will also interact with the crowds to find out what makes each event so popular. The cuisine is always of interest at these events. Vendors are just as eager to talk about their unique food, as patrons are to taste it. From riding a Ferris Wheel to riding motorcycles, from Bass fishing to Mothman sightings, there is an event for everyone to watch.
 
 
 
West Virginia Bass Festival
Tuesday, June 29th at 9:30pm &
Saturday, July 3rd at 1:30pm
 
The West Virginia Bass Festival is a four-day event that takes place in St. Marys, WV. The festival offers fishing tournaments on the Ohio River for the whole family to participate in (with entry fee). Live evening entertainment, fireworks, carnival rides, games, food vendors, bingo and lots more for all to enjoy.

Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair
Tuesday, July 6th at 9:30pm &
Saturday, July 10th at 1:30pm
 
More than 130 artisans gather in Ripley to sell and demonstrate products ranging from wood, glass, metal, fine art and more. Throughout the three-day event, there is a myriad of musical and other forms of Appalachian entertainment at multiple locations on the fairfrounds. Families can enjoy activities like storytelling and drawing workshops for children, demonstrations by chefs and interactie booths.

West Virginia Coal Festival

The West Virginia Coal Festival, a celebration of coal and its heritage, is held in Madison, WV, the coal capital of West Virginia. THe 2010 festival will be the 17th annual event that is free of charge and loaded with activities. Events atthe festival include mine machinery displays, Nashville entertainment, miners memorial service, food vendors, arts and crafts, carnival and more.

West Virginia State Fair
Tuesday, July 20th at 9:30pm &
Saturday, July 24th at 1:30pm
 
The West Virginia State Fair in Lewisburg features a traveling carnival with various rides, livestock and equine shows, home arts, gardens and concessions. Entertainment includes Kay Rosaires's Big Cat Encounter, a Nouveau Theatrical Circus and free concerts. In addition to the free concerts, there are shows by country music starts Lady Antebellum, Rodney Atkins, Justin Moore and more.

West Virginia Interstate Fair

The West Virginia Interstate Fair is a five-day event at the Interstate Fairgrounds in Mineral Wells, WV. Themes for the week include Senior Citizen's Day, Kid's Day and Armed Forces Day. There are events such as ATV Drag Racing, Potatoe Sack Race, pageant and baby contests, eating contests and livestock shows.

Marietta Sternwheel Festival

Located at the levee on the banks of the Ohio River in Marietta, OH, the Sternwheel Festival attracts an estimated 100,000 each year. The festival offers a full weekend of free, quality, family oriented entertainment and a great fireworks show. Other events that take place include Little Miss and Mr. Sternwheel Pageant, Rollin' Oldies Car Show and a Photo Contest.

West Virginia Mountainfest Motorcycle Rally

The West Virginia Mountainfest Motorcycle Rally takes place in the "3rd Best Small Town in America," Morgantown, WV. Mountainfest is packed full of entertainment, attractions, shopping and just about anything else related to the motorcycle enthusiast. The four-day festival includes a poker run, Custom Chopper Show, comedians nad a Kid's Korner to name a few.

Parkersburg Homecoming

Parkersburg Homecoming is held every August and is home to West Virginia's largest fireworks show. In addition to the fireworks, there is the Festival Pageant, Gold Scramble, flea market, crafts and multiple activities for kids. Enjoy live entertainment such as concerts, talent shows, parades, the Rubber Ducky Derby and much more.

Blennerhassett Island Tour

Blennerhassett Island on the Ohio River is open May 1st through October of each year. While on the Island, visitors can enjoy picnicking, horse-drawn wagon rides, nature walks and a tour of the beautiful Mansion. Costumed volunteers conduct tours throug the reconstructed mansion as visitors get a glimpse into the 18th-century frontier life.

Mothman Festival

The Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant is an annual gathering commemorating the visit of the mysterious entity known as "The Mothman," due to his moth-like appearance and red glowing eyes. The festival features Mothman witnesses, vendors and merchandise. There is also a Powerlifting Contest, Miss Mothman Pageant and an eerie hayride.
