You name it, West Virginians celebrate it. Food, crafts, music, dance, ethnic cultures, history and just about any other good thing you can imagine. There are festivals for apple butter and antiques, buckwheat and bass, chili and coal, dandelions and dulcimers. I think you get the idea.
Summer and fall are the seasons for county fairs around the state, and the West Virginia State Fair has been a Lewisburg tradition for over 75 years.

UPCOMING FAIRS and FESTIVALS
The West Virginia State Fair in Lewisburg features a traveling carnival with various rides, livestock and equine shows, home arts, gardens and concessions. Entertainment includes Kay Rosaires's Big Cat Encounter, a Nouveau Theatrical Circus and free concerts. In addition to the free concerts, there are shows by country music starts Lady Antebellum, Rodney Atkins, Justin Moore and more.
Located at the levee on the banks of the Ohio River in Marietta, OH, the Sternwheel Festival attracts an estimated 100,000 each year. The festival offers a full weekend of free, quality, family oriented entertainment and a great fireworks show. Other events that take place include Little Miss and Mr. Sternwheel Pageant, Rollin' Oldies Car Show and a Photo Contest.
